Miss A has been teaching for the last 5 years across the UK and in 2 schools in London, where she now lives. Miss A has contributed to the development of Computing across all of the schools she has worked in and has in some cases started from 'nothing' to get a curriculum established. This has involved a lot of research, training, trailing, failing and successes. As the Computing world grows, being a Computing co-ordinator can seem overwhelming and at times frustrating so here she can share her experiences with you and hopes you will share yours too, so a community of tech specialists can develop. Her understanding of the curriculum extends to leadership and governing body level so the broader approach is also considered and commented upon in many parts of this website.
Personal note:
"When I started co-ordinating I felt like I knew very little, I was the product of a generation who were in school when the Internet emerged and also knew most shortcuts for Microsoft Office. Coding petrified me and while embedding the Information Technology and Digital Literacy elements came to me relatively easy, I had to learn how to excite and coach others who saw no use in it. While I have learnt a lot, I am still learning and often get the nerves and excitement I had when I first started! I hope here we can share our experiences and help each other to grow a computing in education community." 😊
